The steam locomotive operated by the Philippine Railway Company did not lord it over Cebu Island. On the contrary, its demise was due to the fact that locals would rather ride the Autobus which took a much laid-back route around the island from Argao in the south up to Danao in the north.

The final nail in the coffin was hammered during world war 2.

I'd like to correct your caption. This is not the Cebu Lumber Co. although it may be sporting the sign, this was the Colegio de San Ildefonso which was renamed into the Colegio de San Carlos along Martires St., (now MJ Cuenco Ave.) near Fort San Pedro.

The Cebu Lumber Co. was to the rear of the Colegio, much closer to the pier area near the Terraplen.

I'd like to correct your caption, this photo was taken after the Capitol building was inaugurated.

This photo was taken sometime in 1912. This structure used to house the Little Flower of Jesus Academy, demolished in the 1960's.

This building was adjacent to the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral.

Your caption, however, is erroneous as this structure never housed a church. It was owned by the Archbishop of Cebu, though.

if you have more "corrections" sir, please forward it via PM...and oh, I just copied the captions from the site where I got it. Anyway you seem to be an "expert" in this category, please post your work so that everybody can appreciate it. Thanks for the corrections though.
